I often look at photos and wonder what Millie would look like in them or think about what a great time we were having but that Millie was always missing.
I came across an artist through an old school friend of mine, the artist is called Josh – I thought I’d have a chat with him; I loved that he could turn us into children’s book type characters as that is the style he works to.
I told Josh that we had lost Millie and that I wanted a family portrait in his style with her in it – I had a couple of issues though because I didn’t want Millie in my arms as a baby (because she’ll never get older than that) and I didn’t want an artist’s impression of what Millie might look like now.
To me having her look younger in the picture didn’t feel right to me because it would always look odd to me, Millie being younger than her younger brothers. I also didn’t want to see an artist’s impression of what she might look like now because even I can’t imagine that myself so how is anyone else supposed to paint her like that?
So I sent Josh various photos of our family and we came up with an amazing idea and this is what I have received in the post today and we absolutely love it and I cannot wait to get it on the wall at home.

Josh took what I said and put Millie in the painting watching over us in a cloud, which is so lovely because this is what we tell the boys, that Millie plays in the clouds and I love the way that she is smiling at us – like she is happy for us.
Josh has gotten the boys heights spot on in comparison to Dan and I and even Rolo is behaving in the painting … that’s a first!
There’s something else in the painting too, to represent the baby that we lost before we had Asher … can you spot it? Let me know in the comments if you do.
I’ve taken a liking recently to paintings and I think Josh really captured what we wanted here and I really wanted to recommend him to you if you fancied something a little bit different and personal to you.
I can tell you that his prices are great too and that he keeps in constant contact whilst finishing the product to ensure that you are happy with it, that’s the kind of customer service I like
I just wanted to share Josh’s work because I love it when I come across something a little bit different and I thought that some of you guys might like his work too.

(Please note that that is a genuine personal review. I have not been paid or gifted anything in exchange for this post – I just thought I’d share Josh’s work because it’s fab)
